A $65,000 pot of state grants is being made available to shooting ranges across the state.

According to a news release, the funding is designed to support recreational opportunities and to promote firearm safety. The funding will be doled out in matching grants at a three to one ratio.

A copy of the state application is available below.

“Shooting ranges provide important benefits to the hunting, recreational shooting, and competitive shooting communities,” said state DEC Commissioner Joe Martens in a statement. “Governor Cuomo supports these grants to ensure the hunting communities have access to ranges to improve and practice their shooting skills. With publicly accessible shooting ranges being in high demand, the Shooting Range Grants Program will prove to be a popular supportive program.”

More about the program can be found on the DEC website.
