NEW YORK (AP) — New York City will launch a citywide gun buyback program later this year aimed at removing thousands of illegal guns off the street. City Council Speaker Christine Quinn made the announcement Sunday. The Council and the NYPD each will contribute $150,000 for 10 gun buyback events.
