Family foils thieves with rifle and game camera, KCPQ, Seattle, Wash, 03/18/16, 03/21/16

A 15-year-old was at home in South Prairie, Wash. when a pair of thieves broke a window to gain access to the house. The young man responded by retrieving a rifle and shouting at the criminals, prompting them to flee.
The incident marked the second time in a week that the family had been targeted by burglars. Following the first burglary, the homeowner set up a game camera to capture images in case there was another intrusion. The ploy worked. After pictures of the thieves were disseminated, tips from the public led to the burglars’ capture.
