Iowa: Hearing Protection Act Passes Final Senate Vote!

Today, House File 2279, the Hearing Protection Act, passed its final vote in the Senate with an overwhelming 46-4 bipartisan vote.  As previously reported, HF 2279 was amended by the Senate Judiciary Committee, but the amendment was favorable and did not change the original intent of the bill.  Due to this amendment, HF 2799 must now head back to the House for a final concurrence vote.  If the House votes to concur on HF 2279, Iowa will become the 42nd state to allow for the sale, use and possession of firearm sound suppressors.  Please contact your state Representative and politely urge him or her to vote to concur on the amended version of House File 2799.
